EDINBURGH -- Montreal diver Meaghan Benfeito has won her second gold medal of the Commonwealth Games in the womens 10-metre tower. Benfeito won with a combined score of 372.65 points, while Roseline Filion of Laval, Que., tool bronze with 361.80. The pair combined for a gold medal in the 10-metre synchro platform earlier in the Games. "It cant get any better than winning two gold medals at your last competition of the season," Benfeito said. "I had a really tough morning in preliminaries. To come out on top is absolutely amazing." Fiion said she exceeded her expectations to cap her best season internationally on individual tower. "Coming out with 361 points and a bronze medal is absolutely amazing," she said. "It was a tough competition with many of the worlds best and Im pleased with my achievement. I just wanted to do good dives in the final and do a better score than in preliminaries. I knew if I did that I stood a good shot at a medal." Pandelela Rinong Pamg of Malaysia won silver with 368.55 points. Carol-Ann Ware of Beloeil, Que., was seventh at 320.80. Canada has four diving medals (two gold, one silver, one bronze) at the Commonwealth Games diving venue in Edinburgh, about a 75-kilometre drive from host city Glasgow. On mens three-metre springboard, Ooi Tze Lang of Malaysia won the gold medal with 457.60 points, Jack Laugher of England was second at 449.70 and his compatriot Oliver Dingley third at 413.40. Two-time Olympian Riley McCormick of Victoria was fourth at 413.40, with Francois Imbeau-Dulac of St-Lazare, Que., seventh and Cody Yano of Edmonton ninth. "I felt like this was an event I could have won a medal in," said McCormick, who switched from tower to springboard after the 2012 Olympics. "Im pretty disappointed. The execution was good but I just couldnt manage the entries, so I gave up a lot of points there." Diving competition continues Friday. Roman Josi Jersey . Brian Hoyer wanted to hold onto the feeling as long as possible. Seemingly cursed for so long, the Browns finally have something in September to celebrate. For the first time in 10 years, theyre 1-0 at home. Hoyer, annoyed that he had to come off the field for rookie backup Johnny Manziel, directed an 85-yard drive to set up Billy Cundiffs 29-yard field goal with three seconds left, giving Cleveland a 26-24 win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Cundiffs kick helped the Browns (1-1) snap a nine-game losing streak in home openers, gave Pettine his first NFL coaching win and Cleveland its first in a home opener since 2004 . "I graduated high school that year," Hoyer said. "Its a long time coming, and our fans deserve it." Manziel made a perfunctory NFL debut with a handful of plays, but had no major impact. The Browns didnt need any magic from Johnny Football. Hoyer delivered. He was marvelous in the clutch, moving the Browns from their own 4 to the New Orleans 11, and Cundiff took it from there. Hoyer completed several big passes on the final drive, including one on fourth down to tight end Gary Barnidge and a 28-yarder to Andrew Hawkins with 13 seconds to go. "The play of the game was Gary catching the ball across the middle on the last drive," Hoyer said. "If he doesnt do that, its over." New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees threw two touchdown passes to tight end Jimmy Graham and moved past Hall of Famer John Elway into fourth place on the NFLs career passing list. The Saints (0-2) dropped their fifth straight regular-season road game. Down 24-23, Hoyer took over in the shadow of his own end zone. Missing suspended wide receiver Josh Gordon and without injured Pro Bowl tight end Jordan Cameron and running back Ben Tate, Hoyer marched the Browns down the field. He completed two passes on third down and kept the drive alive by firing his 10-yard strike to Barnidge. With 15 seconds remaining, Hawkins somehow got behind the defence and Hoyer lobbed him the ball. Out came Cundiff, who drilled his kick to the delight of Browns fans, who seconds earlier feared they would witness another heart-breaker. Pettine was presented with a game ball by Hoyer and got a handshake from legendary Browns running back Jim Brown.dddddddddddd "I couldnt be more proud," said Pettine, who lost his debut last week in Pittsburgh. "There were a lot of times during that game we could have just let it slip away and we battled back. This games about making plays." Hoyer went 8 of 11 for 78 yards on the last drive and finished 24 of 40 for 204 yards and a TD. He came out for a few plays as Manziel, the hyped rookie, handed the ball off twice and had one incompletion. Hoyer wasnt thrilled about sharing the stage with Manziel. "If its going to help us win, then Im all for it," Hoyer said. Safety Tashaun Gipson returned an interception 62 yards for a TD in the second quarter and Karlos Dansby had an overlooked sack in the fourth for the Browns. After a terrible start, Brees got into a groove and had the Saints in position to bounce back from a tough overtime loss last week in Atlanta. But New Orleans defence couldnt stop the Browns late and co-ordinator Rob Ryan and coach Sean Payton had a heated discussion on the sideline in the fourth quarter. It was a milestone day for Brees, who jumped Hall of Famer John Elway into fourth place in career yardage. Brees went by Elway on a six-yard completion in the second quarter to Graham, who didnt make his first catch until deep into the second quarter. Brees went 27 of 40 for 237 yards. Graham had 10 catches for 118 yards. "Its frustrating because we expect to win," Brees said. "You can point to one play in each of these games. Were one play away in each of these games from being 2-0 instead of 0-2. That hurts." Brees was under duress throughout the first half as Clevelands defensive front harassed him. On the pick, Paul Kruger hit Brees just as he released the ball, sailing it over Graham and right to Gipson, who picked up some blockers and scored untouched. For a change, the ball bounced Clevelands way. "Its good to finally end up on the other side," cornerback Joe Haden said.
